Welcome to the Uptown Studio Blog!!
I am thrilled to announce that we have just launched our new website!
The website was designed to inform, educate and keep you up to date on what’s happening at the Studio.
This blog is intended to bring special attention to some of the life changing work that is going on here. A first hand look at the types of issues and the types of results that are being witnessed. Clients have told me that as they come to their own appointments and see a child that has been coming regularly, they are amazed at the transformation. It is genuinely exciting to see. I want to share all aspects of the types of changes we are seeing with the kids, adults, high level performer athletes and musicians.
The website is loaded with resource pages, testimonial video, links and information that can start the process of understanding the conversation with brain that Moshe Feldenkrais and Anat Baniel’s work is based on. Upcoming workshops, class schedules, studio hours, studio rental information, it’s all there.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Over the coming months I look forward to sharing my work with you through this blog.

I have just returned from assistant teaching in the Anat Baniel training in California. It was a fabulous time. The theme of this segment, which is the 3rd in a 10 segment basic training was the dynamic relationship between the pelvis and the head. The pelvis and the head being at either end of the spine are intimately connected in everything we do. The head, housing the brain for intention and the eyes declaring the direction, relies on the power of muscles of the pelvis and lower back to carry out the action. This is our most important relationship in terms of movement. You can’t have one without the other. When this relationship is working well all our movement are easier, more comfortable, and better organized. When it is not working well all kinds of difficulties ensue. The good news is we can improve the quality and function of this relationship through the wonderful work of the Feldenkrais and Anat Baniel methods.
